“Geoff supported me 100% in thinking outside the box. He worked from first principles to prove my unconventional ideas for foundations and timber frame to the satisfaction of Building Control. I’m looking forward to our next project together!”

“I have worked with Geoff and his team on numerous super prime residential projects, in Central London and Country Estates.
StructureMode always identify key structural issues and resolve them with innovative solutions, then communicate the concepts in simple terms. This helps us enormously to accurately forecast the financial implications and control construction costs.
They are always willing to fully engage in value engineering exercises to ensure Clients’ receive the very best value for money whilst still satisfying the Contractor’s need for “buildability”.
I’m more than happy to recommend Geoff and the StructureMode team, and hope that we continue to work on many more projects together in future.”

“StructureMode were an integral part of our team to design a series of timber structures within the grounds of a Grade 2* Listed house.
They were influential throughout the process, quickly understanding the design intent which allowed us to explore structural solutions that reinforced the architectural concept.
Communication was excellent, using sketches and physical models to rapidly test and appraise structural options. StructureMode developed an elegant roundwood reciprocal frame which created beautiful architecture with the minimum environmental impact.“

“I collaborated with StructureMode on two recent projects for public clients, a large mixed-use development and a park pavilion. StructureMode’s approach made a big difference to both projects.
At the outset they quickly understood the architectural requirements and had a strong desire to propose innovative and elegant solutions with a heavy focus on sustainable materials and systems to reduce embodied carbon.
Throughout the design processes there was great communication and a willingness to collaborate.
This led to better and more thoroughly coordinated designs that had lower embodied carbon, cost efficient and easier to build.”

“StructureMode worked very collaboratively with us during the design of Salmen House.
They really understood what we, and the client, were looking to achieve and knew that budget was paramount. To this end, they developed inventive solutions to decrease costs, material use, and construction time.
Whether this was breaking beams into shorter sections to allow the contractor to more easily purchase and install them, or creating diaphragm walls to omit box frames, the rule of incremental improvements made a huge difference. I think the single most impressive structural move was to design a cantilevered foundation which instantly saved £10,000 of underpinning.
While the finished three bed house does not speak of this structural ingenuity, apart from in its build cost of £205,000, it is fair to say we could not have realised the building we did without StructureMode.”

“We worked with Structure Mode on a number of projects over the past few years, including Montrose Cafe Hub and a number of design competitions.
Very much admirers of the Dulwich Pavilion, we appreciate its structural simplicity, integral to the spatial purity and richness.
We also note the enormous commitment Geoff’s team dedicated to projects, including hands-on experiments and working on site with the team.
We share with Geoff the ethos of what structure is and can be, in the realm of sculptural artwork, research, and innovation.”

“It was a pleasure working with Geoff and his team on a basement extension and refurbishment project for my home near Notting Hill. He is a great communicator and was able to explain the structural design and processes simply and clearly to me, as a lay client, to keep us well informed at appropriate times along the way.
Geoff and his team worked hard to eliminate structure and improve the efficiency of the overall design, producing a well-coordinated and clear set of structural information which gave the contractor all the information they needed at the outset of the project.
I would not hesitate to recommend Geoff and his team and would be happy to work with them again on a future project.”
