An typical fee for a SPECIFIC STRUCTURAL INSPECTION might be: 1-hour visual inspection of a specific and localised problem in a Victorian terraced house, located in Leyton, plus 4 hours to prepare a structural report and 45 mins admin (5.75 hours total) would be £978 (no VAT chargeable).

However, sometimes a visual inspection is not be enough to diagnose the cause of a structural problem, and further investigations might be required. Perhaps opening up to expose the structure, geotechnical or drainage investigations, material testing and/or movement monitoring over a period, which all affect our time and therefore cost of an investigation. We discuss and agree each step in the process with our clients, estimate fees, and only charge actual time spent at £170 per hour.
