2. CLIENT DESIGN ADVISOR services for larger projects – currently we are structural client design advisor on a £40m new-build nursing home for a public client.
3. Structural VIABILITY / FEASIBILITY ASSESSMENT services – to determine whether an existing structure can support an additional storey on top, or perhaps a new basement can be safely added below.
4. Structural CONCEPT DESIGN services – to develop clever structural designs that work in harmony with the architecture and building services, maximise the potential of a development, while minimising cost and embodied carbon.
5. COMPLEX STRUCTURE design services – including challenging and environmentally sustainable alterations and extensions, bespoke staircases, temporary pavilions, public art and bespoke furniture.

An example fee for a STRUCTURAL ENGINEERING INSPECTION, assuming a 1-hour visual inspection of a 2-storey Victorian terraced house to assess localised cracking, located within 45 minutes of our office at Elephant & Castle, and followed by a straightforward summary report of our findings, would cost around £675 plus VAT.

Sometimes structural problems are widespread, have multiple causes, or are just more complex, and will therefore require further investigation, opening up, testing and/or ongoing monitoring. These factors, as well as building type, size and location, would affect the cost. Often an initial visual inspection, such as described above, is required before we can estimate the final cost.
