Structural Technician



About the role:

Due to an increase in new and exciting business, we are currently seeking a Structural Technician to join our London based team on a full-time permanent basis.

The role will involve working with engineers and other technicians to produce high quality and innovative structural engineering designs.

Key tasks:
  • Work with engineers and other technicians to produce efficient, practical, innovative and coordinated structural designs.
  • Identify, foresee and help the engineers avoid practical challenges within a proposed design.
  • Undertake multi-discipline design & coordination activities with other members of the project team.
  • Develop solutions to problems to resolve design and detailing challenges.
  • Produce and maintain Building Information Modelling (BIM) deliverables using Revit across a diverse range of projects.
  • Prepare, maintain and issue high quality 3D models and 2D drawings using AutoCAD, in addition to associated non-graphical design data.
  • Help maintain computer software and I.T. systems under direction of specialist I.T. personnel and director.
  • Help with some aspects of office administration.
Key requirements:
  • NVQ or higher qualification in Civil or Structural Engineering that meets the Institution of Structural Engineers’ or Institution of Civil Engineers’ educational requirements for Engineering Technician (Eng Tech) status.
  • Minimum 2 years relevant experience working within a similar UK practice.
  • Highly competent at producing 2D and 3D structural drawings using AutoCAD.
