Amsterdam bridge competition, Tensegrity bridge concept design

Collaboration with Takero Shimazaki Architecture for a competition to design a pedestrian bridge in Amsterdam.

StructureMode has carried out extensive research on tensegrity structures and used the outcome in the concept design developed for the Amsterdam Bridge Competition. The use of a tensegrity structure allows the deck to be free to perform. The surface levels and sheer, fabric canopies are arranged rhythmically, whilst the structure pushes and pulls through.
