John is an Associate at StructureMode. He enjoys working with fantastic architects to deliver beautiful designs that bring joy.

After nearly ten years in construction, John has a holistic understanding of the industry having worked as structural engineer, client, contractor and in an architectural practice. In his career, he’s led residential projects from ~100k bedroom extensions to the £100m King’s Cross Zone W. He’s also worked on offices such as the £65m Four Kingdom Street, a 42-storey tower at Wood Wharf, a ~£800m housing association scheme in South London and a refurbishment for the Ministry of Sound. John was an integral part of the team that won a prestigious Structural Award in 2014, for Pulkovo Airport, St Petersburg; with the elements he designed featuring on the cover of the Structural Engineer magazine.

John is passionate about helping people become successful engineers and has started a blog to to raise awareness of the specialism, mentored students, advised engineers as they progress towards chartership and lectured at Imperial College and UCL.
